Superstonic Sound : A Rebel Dread

In 1970s England, after the peace and love of the Sixties had given way to an era of mass frustration among children of immigrants and disenfranchised working class white people, the music and lyrics of Reggae and Punk became synonymous with youth culture. When Don Letts, a young black Briton, dared to play Reggae at a famous Punk club, he brought together two disparate groups, both victimized by a controversial new Stop and Search legislation that had been introduced by the British Establishment. “Superstonic Sound: The Rebel Dread” is the story of how two cultures and two musical genres which could not be more different, came together during one politically-charged time and place, and the story of the man who made it happen.
